June 10 2008-Grace, Who Needs it?

It is so good to be able again to sit and write. Our life here at Community has been in the state of extreme transition! We moved out of our old location, found a new one, closed the deal, and moved into a new one, all in the matter of about two weeks. Then this past weekend my wife woke up Saturday in severe pain, after a trip to two hospitals, several x rays, much poking and prodding, and emergency surgery on Sunday. I now have her back home, minus a very mean kidney stone. What a roller coaster life can be sometimes.
Life will remind you often of your inabilities. We as a people love to celebrate success and achievement. We have all types of trophies recognizing what we can do. We must realize it is just as important that we also recognize what we cannot do. Clint Eastwood once said " A man has got to know his limitations."

God told Abraham that He would be the father of many. That was a dream come true for Abraham. The only problem with this story is that Abraham and his wife were well past the age of bearing children. He was completely unable to do what God ask him to do, He had no power to make his dream come true.

God loves you so much and He wants you to be a part of His awesome eternal kingdom. The only problem with this story is, that like Abraham you are completely unable to be what God requires you to be to earn a place in His kingdom. We could never be good enough. We will always fall short in some way. What can we do? We need help!
Grace is Gods favor, His help, His divine ability. Abraham did not put his faith in what he could do he knew that he was not able, he put his faith in what God could do. God has the power! By accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior and believing that He has the power to help you be the person that God wants you to be, you will receive His grace and if you are like the rest of the human race you will need it!

I thank God for His amazing amazing Grace. It really does have the power to transform and enable. So what you are saying is that whatever God calls us to, we will not be able to do it. Only when He is doing it through us. So, we shouldn't get too worried when God asks us to do something we can't do because that means He the God of this whole universe wants to work through us. And we will do it if we just trust in him and move forward. Awesome!!
